Burns, Scots Language and Scottish Songs

With Burns Night almost upon us, a number of classes in school have been looking at Scots language, extending their Scots vocabulary and using it in very creative ways. Primary 6, for example, designed some fantastic “WANTED!” posters for The Gruffalo which featured some wonderful Scots terms! You can see some of them on the P6 Class Page.

On Friday 25th January P1/2 and P4c  are having a joint celebration of songs, poetry, dancing and food to celebrate Burns Day.

And all the P3 to P7 classes have been learning some traditional Scottish songs which they will be performing at a special concert on Friday 8th February. We hope you can join us for that, as the children have been singing with gusto – or should that be, “giein’ it laldy” – at rehearsals!
