We’re also lucky enough to have our brass & woodwind players performing for us and there might even be a special treat from some of the older members of our school community…! The Proms will begin at 1.30pm and we’re all hoping for a sunny afternoon!

We’re really looking forward to seeing former staff, parents and pupils drop in during the day to share their memories of the school, or to see if they can spot themselves in some of the many old photos we have adorning the walls!

Our specially created Gylemuir Museum & Art Gallery will be open, offering a chance to look at Gylemuir through the decades and the children have been very creative, decorating stars to reflect major events of the past 50 years.

You can bake a cake of any shape, size or design (but please DO NOT use any nut products) and the winner will receive a voucher for afternoon tea for two at Bon Tearoom. Happy baking!

Gylemuir Singers Put on a Great Performance at Corstorphine Festival

With the Corstorphine Fair taking place this Saturday, 2nd June, this week sees events happening throughout the area as part of the Corstorphine Festival.

The pupils did themselves, Mr. Kay and the entire school proud with an energetic, uplifting and tuneful performance of Sho Sholoza, South Australia and Three Little Birds. Each song was greeted with huge applause and great cheering by the packed audience…much to the delight of the singers who had worked so hard to prepare!

There are further Corstorphine Festival events taking place over the next few days – for a full list please see the Corstorphine Public Hall website.
